're in the expansion camp, you want financials, energy, materials. in the contraction camp, you're generally on the defensive side. the trade everybody's been talking about, jim you alluded to it, it's to play the u.s. market, play autos, housing, consumer staples. i call it the home depot trade. it's been a monster. that's the classic trade to play in these circumstances. i have a couple of problems with this. number one, cyclicals have outperformed defensive names in the last couple of months since this has been a very popular notion out there. since june overall, earnings and stocks have been somewhat negatively correlated. we've seen earnings come down and yet the stock markets continue to move up. in the last few weeks, really hold right near its highs. you can argue and there is certainly truth to that that that's because we have q.e. 3, because we've got the ecb in the market. but i look at the facts of where the market is, not necessarily what's been moving it every minute. that's what i see right now. today, the european bailout fund is coming into effect. if spain keeps going along

was very excited at the job that he did. usually, he comes off with not a lot of energy and has not been attacking obama very much. but during this debate, he came in from the very beginning. he was energetic. i thought he connected well as he answered the questions. i was very excited. he gave his proposals. this is one of the best jobs i have seen him do since he won the nomination appeared >> do you think it was enough to be a game changer for this campaign? >> what i think happened is, for once, he no longer let them define who he is. i think he has let the democrats and the media define who he was as far as tax rates, lowering taxes for the rich, and not looking for the middle-income and lower-income people. and for once, he was able to articulate exactly who he was and that those were not his programs that were being mentioned by the media and by the president. i do think that it helps him especially with independence to find out who he really is. at this point, they need to see who he is. >> when we met you at the convention, you had originally been a supporter of ron paul. i wond

. number one, we will take advantage of our energy, coal, gas, oil, nuclear. the president has cut in half the number of permits and licenses on federal lands and in federal waters. i will double them. the president has made it virtually impossible to build a coal industry in this country. we have a lot of coal and i want to use it. the want thet w keystone pipeline. i will get us that oil from canada. i will open up more trade. we can trade on a fair basis with people around the world. but when people steal our jobs and trade practices as a china has, i will hold them accountable. we cannot let our jobs get stolen unfairly. i want to make sure the people have the skills that they need to succeed. i want training programs that prepare people for the jobs of today. right now have 47 different federal training programs reporting to eight different agencies. think of the overhead and the bureaucracy and waste. i want to take of that money and give virginia its fair share and say, you create the training programs that work for your people. that the federal government out of it.
